A Celebration of Success in Burlington

The Tourism Ambassador Awards honour outstanding achievements and contributions to the Tourism industry in Burlington, Ontario. Nominations are being accepted for these awards and will be presented at the Chamber of Commerce Gala in spring of 2012. You may submit multiple nominations, and self-nominations are accepted. To submit a nomination, simply complete this Nomination Form and forward to Tourism Burlington. One form per nomination, photocopies of the form will be accepted. Please print clearly. All nominations received by the nomination deadline will be reviewed and evaluated by tourism industry representatives.

1. CATEGORIES:

a. Tourism Ambassador Award

The Tourism Burlington Ambassador Award recognizes a local individual who has:

* Made an outstanding contribution to the promotion of Burlington as a tourism destination and this promotion has had a significant impact on visitation to the city

* Contributed over a prolonged period of time and most particularly over the last year.

* Contributed primarily in a volunteer capacity.

* Has demonstrated leadership, professionalism and integrity, has established a strong  legacy and has gained the respect of those in the tourist industry.

* Has shown dedication to customer service, initiative, creativity, and regularly goes above and beyond to contribute to the success of the event, service or business for which they represent.

b. Tourism Builder Award

The Tourism Burlington Builder Award recognizes an individual or business who has:

* Shown exceptional vision in the development of tourism that will leave a strong legacy in Burlington.

* Demonstrated outstanding leadership and been a tireless advocate in encouraging tourism product and service development in Burlington.

* Contributed primarily in a volunteer capacity.
