



Feeling Festive? Visit Burlington to participate in fun, family activities held all year round, many in picturesque park settings. From road races to sports tournaments to major community festivals, Burlington is alive with activities. Visitors or residents who are staycationing will find many events taking place throughout the year. Our new Burlington Performing Arts Centre is hosting numerous performances and events this season.

One of the first signs of spring is that various parks and conservation areas host maple syrup activities. Bronte Creek Provincial Park and Mountsberg Conservation Area celebrate the season throughout March with wagon rides, demonstrations, tours and of course pancakes! Spring is also blossom time with many great events planned at the world-renowned Royal Botanical Gardens including the Tulip, Lilac, Iris and Peony and Rose celebrations.
Summer kicks off in June with a Fine Art and Craft Festival with artists exhibiting their work. On the same weekend Doors Open features numerous heritage and architecturally significant facilities open free of charge to the public. The Sound of Music is one of Ontario’s top 100 festivals and it features free music and activities all Fathers Day weekend. Canada Day celebrations on July 1st include musical entertainment, and a fireworks display. Burlington's newest festival taking place in July, The Burlington Country and Blues Bar-B-Que features line dancing, great musical entertainment by Country and blues artists plus the wonderful aroma of bbq. A Taste of Burlington is another popular culinary event that provides prix fix menus at great value at the end of July and into August. Just for kids, visit the Kite & Environment Festival in June or the Children’s Festival in August. Canada’s Largest Ribfest, the "Super Bowl of Ribfests" and is held Labour Day weekend and features “ribbers”, music and much more. These are just a few of the events happening throughout the summer.

Fall is harvest time with many local farms offering great family events. The Conservation areas and Bronte Creek Provincial Park provide guided walks, educational sessions which are great ways to see the beautiful fall colours. The are also a number of Thanksgiving and Halloween events that are fun for young and old.

Burlington is a winter wonderland with events such as the Museum Candlelight Tours, the Christmas Parade, the waterfront Festival of Lights, New Years Celebrations and the Winter Carnival in February. Cold weather doesn't phase area runners who participate in the Santa Run, Robbie Burns Run, Chilly Half Marathon and the Around the Bay Road Race. A Taste of Burlington offers prix fix dining at numerous restaurants in late February and into March.
