Learn the art of rug hooking from Burlington Rug Hooking Guild member, Alice Bespolko. A handicraft that originated during the Victorian era on Canada’s eastern shores, rug hooking is now a popular art and pastime. Participants will experience the basics of rug hooking as they make a Hit-and-Miss mug rug, using leftover fabric and wool in an effort to recycle textiles. Each participant will receive a hoop, hook, linen fabric, pattern, and wool fabric/yarn to complete their project. Participants will have the option of touring Ireland House Museum before the workshop (12pm). Light refreshments included. This workshop is suitable for ages 18+.
