Musician - Cellist

Arlen Hlusko attended Nelson High School before moving to Calgary to pursue her passion for music.  Arlen is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, where she was the Jacqueline du Pre memorial fellow, and a student of both Peter Wiley and Carter Brey. She has performed extensively throughout Asia, Europe, and North America. She has appeared professionally as a soloist and chamber musician in prestigious venues across the world, including all 3 halls at Carnegie Hall, Field Concert Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Le Studio Philharmonie de Paris, The Kimmel Center’s Perelman Theater & Verizon Hall, Roy Thompson Hall, Jack Singer Concert Hall, and Guangzhou Opera House. Arlen was a laureate of several competitions, including top prizes at the Kingsville International Competition and Canadian Music Competition.  As a chamber musician, Arlen Hlusko was awarded a Grammy for her collaboration with The Crossing, and has collaborated in performance with members of the Guarneri, Orion, Cleveland, and Tokyo String Quartets, among others.
