Sound of Music Festival
The waterfront and downtown come to life with the annual Sound of Music Festival, Canada’s largest free music festival that kicks off our summer during the week leading up to Father’s Day in June. Enjoy an invigorating mix of acclaimed Canadian and international performers, and emerging performers on bistro patios and our waterfront stages. You can stroll the downtown streets, lakeside boardwalk or Waterfront Trail taking in the various performances.
Canada Day celebrations on July 1 includes music and a spectacular waterfront fireworks display. And for kids of all ages, check out the Kite Festival in June or the Children’s Festival in August.

Food Festivals & Markets
Canada’s Largest Ribfest is truly the “Super Bowl” of ribfests, held every Labour Day weekend, featuring many “ribbers,” music, crafts, carnival rides for all ages.

Burlington enjoys warm, summers. June to August daytime high temperatures range from 24-27º Celsius (75-80º F). Evenings, can be cool especially by the lake, so it’s best to pack a light jacket or a sweater so you can enjoy an outdoor patio or night time stroll.
