Classic Albums Live QUEEN – News of the World

February 14 @ 8:00 PM

$69.50 – $89.50

BPAC favourite Classic Albums Live and its roster of A-list musicians from across the country will be performing Queens’s News of the World exactly as you remember hearing it, note for note, cut for cut.

News of the World is the sixth studio album by the British rock band Queen, released on 28 October 1977. Queen reponded to progressive rock backlash, brought on by punk bands like the Sex Pistols, by simplifying their symphonic rock sound and gearing towards a more spontaneous hard rock sound. News of The World has since come to be regarded as one of Queen’s greatest albums, while “We Are the Champions” and “We Will Rock You” have since become rock anthems.

Founded in 2003 by Craig Martin, Classic Albums Live takes the greatest albums and recreates them live on stage – note for note, cut for cut, using the best musicians. “Think of it as a recital,” says Martin, “these albums are historic and stand the test of time.” Forgoing costumes and impersonations, Classic Albums Live has found success in concentrating solely on the music. “We don’t dress up or wear any sort of costume. We just stand there and play. All of our energy is put into the music. We want the performance to sound exactly like the album,” says Martin.
