Art Galleries

The Art Gallery of Burlington is home to an acclaimed collection of contemporary Canadian Ceramics with over 2,000 pieces in the collection. The Art Etc. Gift Shop is part of the Art Gallery of Burlington and specializes in Canadian hand-crafted items, all of which are carefully selected by the shop’s selection committee.

Burlington Artist Gallery represents the avian paintings of award-winning local artist Chris Bacon and the original artwork of owner Joan L. Ng.

The Aldershot area in west Burlington is quickly becoming an arts destination. Conveniently located across from the Royal Botanical Gardens on Spring Gardens Rd., Teresa Seaton Studio & Gallery highlights stained glass art by Teresa Kirkland Lynch Studio is next door to the Seaton Studio and showcases works by stained glass designer Siobhan Lynch and Abstract Painter Peter Kirkland.

In downtown Burlington, just steps from the waterfront is Frederick Fine Art featuring original paintings & prints from renowned artists, hand-blown glass, sculptures, jewellery, custom framing and art restoration.

Blue Roots Arts Studio features art by Donna Grandin including acrylic paintings of Caribbean & Canadian landscapes as well as flowers & foliage. Contact Donna to arrange a visit to her studio. Donald Graves is a Canadian landscape artist that has his works on display in his home studio on Kerns Rd. available for viewing by appointment.

Public Art and Sculptures

Burlington has an active and steadily growing Public Art Program. An exploration through Burlington’s parks and streets will reveal sculptures, installations and day-to-day objects such as benches and bike racks that have been made into works of art! In 2013 Dan Lawrie, Hamilton businessman and Burlington resident, made a 10-year commitment to donating sculptures to Royal Botanical Gardens which has created The International Sculpture Collection. Through Dan’s generosity, this permanent collection grows each year, with the addition of new works from around the world. The Dan Lawrie International Sculpture Collection can be found in Hendrie Park. Please note that there is a fee to enter the park.

Walt Rickli a local stone sculptor encourages the public to visit his outdoor gallery located in the village of Lowville in north Burlington. Enjoy the beautiful gardens, fountains, ironworks and peaceful rural setting of this hidden gem. It is accessible across from Lowville Park off of Guelph Line.

Performing Arts

Whether you are a dance, theatre, or music enthusiast, Burlington has a number of great venues and exciting performances for you to take in during your stay with us.

Our beautiful Burlington Performing Arts Centre has a 718-seat main theatre, 225-seat community studio and 5,000 square-foot lobby for shows and public gatherings. Burlington Teen Tour Band

In 1947 the Burlington Teen Tour Band was formed and became known as Musical Ambassadors to the World. The band not only performs all over the world but they also play host to visiting bands and performers who are showcased at events in and around Burlington. Enjoy the Teen Tour Band’s local performances throughout the year including the Santa Claus Parade and Sound of Music Parades, and the Concerts in the Park free music series.
