International Sculpture Day – Family Program

April 27 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

n partnership with the Art Gallery of Burlington, BWST will host a Family Day filled with FREE activities for kids and families on Saturday, April 27th from 1:00 – 4:00pm.

Like a Lake is a free, drop-in sculpture workshop facilitated by Quintin Teszeri at the Art Gallery of Burlington on Saturday April 27th from 1-4 PM. Participants of all ages and skill sets are invited to try sculpting using an organic modelling compound made with sand. Samples of eroded beach bricks will be provided as inspiration to begin thinking about the role of water in shaping land and objects.

Natural processes are often co-opted to solve human problems, but these processes also have the capacity to solve the problem that is humanity. What happens when we engage with erosion and sedimentation as sculptural processes? How can the lake soften our impact, soften us, render us more organic?
